Sophia is currently a resident at Yanke Bionics in Akron, Ohio. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2023 where she also worked as a graduate assistant for the orthotics and prosthetics program. With a background in biomechanics, kinesiology and sports science, Sophia found that a future in prosthetics and orthotics could offer her more flexibility to pursue what she loved – movement science, patient care and working with her hands. Once she shadowed a POP professional, she was hooked. Sophia likes the amount of thought and consideration that goes into creating the designs for a patient. She has a passion for staying involved in the field and hopes to continue to help it grow as a POP professional.
