Rachel planned to become a physical therapist until she took a leap of faith and shadowed at a local Hanger clinic. She shadowed at the clinic so often that the staff offered her a job. She later earned her certificate in orthotics from Northwestern University. More than 20 years later, Rachel has worked as a certified orthotist and a clinic manager, and is now a clinical recruiter with Hanger.
Over the years, Rachel found energy and excitement in attending POP conferences and connecting with fellow professionals, educators and students. It inspired her to become a clinical recruiter so that she can raise awareness of the field and help foster the next generation of POP professionals.
Rachel learned about WhatIsPOP while attending the American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association’s annual conference and realized that becoming a POP Ambassador paired perfectly with her ongoing recruitment efforts. She looks forward to seeing the next generation of POP professionals thrive and help others.
