Rachel is a certified prosthetist orthotist (CPO) who serves on the Board of Directors for the profession's credentialing board (ABC) and is a past president of the organization. She is also the president of her family business, Friddle’s Orthopedic Appliances, in Honea Path, South Carolina. Orthotics is a legacy career in Rachel’s family — her father, grandfather and great-grandfather were all orthotists. She received her undergraduate degree in integrative health science and began her journey in orthotics and prosthetics at a private practice. Rachel defines the career as an ideal combination of mechanics and technology with room for creativity. She feels that the most rewarding aspect of the profession is the ability to provide a physical solution that greatly improves patients’ lives.
