Myles grew up fascinated by the intricacies of his uncle’s prosthetic arm, spurring a curiosity to learn more about the POP profession. He eventually shadowed at a nearby orthotics and prosthetics clinic and saw firsthand how POP professionals improve patients’ movements. He wanted to help other patients like his uncle.
Myles worked as an orthotics and prosthetics intern at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, building test sockets, shaping molds and learning about POP. Now, he is a certified prosthetic technician working at Hanger Clinic. Myles loves the rush of completing a device and knowing it will help someone walk better or even just hug their loved ones more easily. He also creates TikTok videos explaining the processes behind prosthetic devices, helping promote POP to younger students.
