Mohammad always knew a career in healthcare was his destiny. Initially, he enrolled in a respiratory therapy program at Taibah University in Saudi Arabia. However, he soon realized he wanted a more dynamic and creative field. Open to new career paths, Mohammad explored different programs at his university and discovered a relatively new offering: a bachelor’s degree in prosthetics and orthotics, the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia.
He switched programs, and after just one day, Mohammad knew a career in POP was his calling. He began as a prosthetist orthotist at a hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, then enrolled in the University of Pittsburgh’s Master of Science in Prosthetics and Orthotics program to expand his skills.
Passionate about advancing the profession, Mohammad is pursuing his PhD in rehabilitation sciences at the University of Washington beginning in Fall 2026. Ultimately, he hopes to return to Saudi Arabia to expand access to POP and help build the next generation of POP professionals in his homeland.
