Lauren Wilberding-Kalvin

Lauren’s interest in a POP career began as an undergraduate student when she chose to major in kinesiology and found purpose in the potential to help patients with their everyday lives. Lauren’s love of physical activity—specifically swimming and soccer—made her appreciate the critical need for POP professionals in her community.

Her favorite day in her prosthetics residency is when a patient gets fitted with a test socket, as she loves the sense of joy and wonder. Lauren found excellent training in her shadowing experiences, which she strongly recommends to anyone pursuing a POP career. She is excited to finish her prosthetics residency and move on to tackle the next challenge in her POP education—an orthotics residency. Having spent most of her POP education working with adults and older adults, Lauren looks forward to working more with children in the next career phase.

My favorite day is when patients get their test socket. They get a wave of ‘I can do this, this is happening!’
