Lauren grew up with family members who used orthoses, so POP interested her from a young age. She previously volunteered for a nonprofit that helped veterans and people with disabilities, but after speaking with and shadowing a prosthetist, she learned that POP was the perfect career for her to combine problem solving, medicine and her background in biomedical engineering. As a POP student, Lauren loves that there is never just one right answer or one way to help a patient. She enjoys that every day brings new topics to explore and looks forward to the day she can discover her own solutions for every patient.
