Kaye’s first exposure to POP was as an emergency medical technician caring for a patient who wore a lower limb prosthetic device. The patient encouraged her to pursue a career in POP—a profession she had never considered. As Kaye learned more about the profession, she discovered how POP blended medical knowledge with interpersonal skills, making it a perfect fit.
Kaye looks forward to beginning her residency as she completes her master’s in prosthetics and orthotics at Northwestern University. She enjoys learning about the other aspects of POP outside of her coursework, including how to run a clinic and the role of health insurance. In the future, she hopes to work as a certified prosthetist orthotist at a clinic with a diverse patient population.
