Kalyn knew she wanted to work in POP after watching Dolphin Tale as a child. The movie follows Winter, a dolphin needing a prosthetic tail, and the amazing team of POP professionals who cared for her. Inspired by the experience, Kalyn began exploring a career in POP across disciplines such as biomedical engineering and medicine.  

Building on her early interest, she has shadowed at a variety of POP clinics, ranging from small, independent clinics to larger, national organizations, and loves learning how different teams operate. Kalyn earned a Master of Prosthetics and Orthotics at the International Institute of Orthotics and Prosthetics and is now completing her dual residency in prosthetics and orthotics. She is most interested in working with pediatric patients in the future.
