Courtney Smyth

Courtney is currently in her residency after pursuing a master's program in prosthetics and orthotics at the University of Washington in Seattle. With an undergrad in mechanical engineering, Courtney wanted a career where she could combine her interest in healthcare with innovation. She was initially interested in animal prosthetics but seeing the direct impact of how her efforts can help people regain their mobility really opened her eyes to the rewards of working with people. Courtney finds POP both emotionally and intellectually fulfilling. As a POP student, she has enjoyed collaborating with her classmates to solve complex problems.

I like being a part of a forward progression – this profession is always exploring new technologies and research.
