Courtney Smyth

Courtney is currently in her residency after pursuing a master's degree in prosthetics and orthotics at the University of Washington in Seattle. With an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering, Courtney wanted a career that combined her interests in health care and innovation. She was initially interested in animal prosthetics, but seeing her direct impact on improving people's mobility inspired her to pursue a career involving patient care. Courtney finds POP both emotionally and intellectually fulfilling. As a POP student, she has enjoyed collaborating with her classmates to solve complex problems.

I like being a part of a forward progression – this profession is always exploring new technologies and research.
