Caitlyn McDonie

From an early age, Caitlyn knew she wanted to work in health care. While playing organized sports in high school, Caitlyn was inspired by her school’s athletic trainer, providing training programs and educational resources for the athlete. It impressed Caitlyn so much that she decided to work with the athletic trainer for two and a half years as an assistant with the football team.

Caitlyn earned her undergraduate degree in education, with a focus on kinesiology, from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She worked in education and a few other jobs before deciding she wanted to be more directly involved in patient care. She returned to her alma mater for her master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in biomechanics. After graduation, she joined a physical therapy clinic specializing in ankles and feet as an in-house biomechanics specialist.

While there, Caitlyn worked alongside a certified pedorthist and was inspired by the impact he had on patients’ lives. With the clinic's encouragement, Caitlyn went on to pursue her certification and is now a pedorthist. She is looking forward to working as a POP educator and sharing her passion with students. In her free time, she enjoys long walks with her three dogs and watching basketball.

Your feet are your foundation, and it’s so gratifying to help patients find solid ground.
