Robert’s connection to POP started his freshmen year of high school when he lost his lower right leg in a car accident. Though he dabbled in construction work after high school, his connection to POP as a person with an amputation eventually turned into a passion for the career.

Robert first became a certified orthotic fitter and then received his pedorthic certification a few years later. While working at a POP clinic, a patient with a badly injured lower leg came to speak with him about his prosthetic device options. He walked the patient through the process and showed him his own device. With Robert’s support, the patient ultimately decided to undergo amputation, and Robert was part of the team that helped him adapt to his new prosthetic leg.

With years of POP experience under his belt, Robert is pursuing his master’s in prosthetics and orthotics at Northwestern University. He’s excited to expand his skills, especially in lower limb prosthetics, and continue to help his patients along their POP journey.
