Kayla was studying dentistry and prosthodontics when she saw a TikTok video that introduced her to POP. She enjoyed the hands-on and patient care aspects of dentistry, but wanted a profession that gave her more opportunities to be creative, work with her hands and connect with patients while also working with veterans and those who served our country.
Kayla knew POP was a natural fit after volunteering with patients to help them regain mobility and independence. She is enrolled in the master’s program at the International Institute of Orthotics and Prosthetics. She enjoys studying clinical gait analysis to learn how POP professionals develop patient care plans. Kayla is eager to learn more about how the profession blends problem-solving and creativity with patient connection.
Kayla hopes to become a certified prosthetist orthotist and create devices for veterans and other patients of all ages. As a POP Ambassador, she wants to inspire others to discover this rewarding and exciting profession.
